Our Expanded Website Styles... Website page design is most often dictated by one question: "Where do you put the links?" While links can be placed anywhere on the page, good design calls for some sort of organization. Rectangles being what they are, it comes down to left, right, top, and bottom. Since bottom placement is not practical for the primary links, that leaves us with three choices. However, by moving things around a bit, we've come up with five styles that can be expanded to produce a nearly unlimited choice of website "looks".
For example, Style 1 is just about as elemental as they come - links across the top and few frills. However, a nice backgound image and a widescreen monitor can put you in a holiday mood, as seen in the example captioned "Holiday Table". The same thing happens in Style 2 with a background image from the American Southwest's "Wide Open Spaces". For an extra twist, we took Style 5 and detached the header, then stretched it fully across the top of the screen. This can be done with any of the styles. |
